We pick 1 or multiple AIs that specialize at the topic discussed. We can even let your members watch them debate it. If they all agree, they can answer everyday questions, so your regulars are not repeating themselves. If they disagree, you choose automatic options before it goes public in your group. Then we follow up (at an interval & style you choose) so your group finally has useful conclusions found nowhere else.

We set it up, we run it. Switch it off in 1 click, any time.

If you run Discourse, you have one free already: it answers questions, sorts posts & writes summaries. Worth asking what this adds. The honest answer is 2 things, & no more.

The built-in one always asks the same single AI. This asks whichever ones know the subject.

1 AI on its own cannot tell you it might be wrong, because it has nothing to check itself against. Several, built separately by rival companies, can. You would think you can get an accurate answer by searching 3 AIs on your own & just take the 2 out of 3 answers that agree with each other, but we've proven that doesn't work. Our algorithms & statistical analysis bring you an answer that is as good as the most expensive AIs at a fraction of the cost. The moment they disagree is the moment worth knowing about.

The built-in one always answers. This one sometimes refuses to.

If you have ever watched a confident bot be wrong in front of your members, you know who had to clean it up. So when they disagree, nothing appears in your group at all. Instead, whoever you choose gets a quiet note saying this one needs a person.

They are sometimes all wrong together.

Our tests proved knowing which engines to ask on 455 topics was more important than asking many AIs randomly.

Every answer can be fixed: any member can report it, you can take it down in 1 click, & what was actually wrong stays attached to it, so nobody reads the bad answer without the fix.

3 steps, & the 3rd one is the unusual one

1

A question arrives

They answer separately, without seeing each other's work. You are told which ones we asked, & you can rule any of them out.

2

They agree, or they do not

Agreeing means saying the same thing, not necessarily using the same words: several wordings of 1 correct answer still count as agreement. If they agree, the answer goes up, clearly marked as written by a machine. If they do not, nothing goes up. For "why has this stopped working" questions it lists every possible cause rather than picking one, quickest thing to check first.

3

Later, it asks what the fault turned out to be

A few days after the thread goes quiet, it asks the person who asked, & the people who suggested causes, which one it actually turned out to be. That answer becomes part of your group's own record.

Your group is full of problems that got solved. It cannot tell you how.

Most groups already let the person who asked point at the reply that helped, & it is a good feature. It records that somebody was satisfied. It does not record what was actually wrong, & that is the only part the next member, or a new member deciding whether to get more engaged, needs.

6 replies. 1 marked as the answer. Nobody knows which cause it actually was.

A member posts: "my machine keeps cutting out halfway through a job, what is wrong with it?" 6 people reply with 6 different ideas. The person who asked marks the reply saying "check the temperature setting, or the feed tube, or the driver". The thread now says solved, & the next member with the same fault learns nothing from it.

We read 285 real fault-finding threads across 3 communities that have no marking feature at all. Between 1% & 7% of the people who asked ever came back & said what the problem turned out to be. Most of those who did return wrote "fixed it, sorry" or "thanks everyone", which helps nobody.

Threads were at least 14 days old, picked by title, & every candidate quote was read by hand: 26 of 39 were thrown out for saying nothing useful. Ask us & we will name the 3 communities, show you how we picked the threads, & send you the quotes we threw out. If you would rather check your own group instead, do that.

Written as promises, because you are letting something post alongside your members

On the group you already have

We connect to it the way other add-ons do. Nothing moves, nothing is rebuilt, & nothing about your group changes. If you are stuck on Facebook & want out, we will set the whole thing up for you instead & hand you the keys.

WhoMonthly
Small club, hosted by us$15
Medium group, hosted by us$29
Large group, on your own hosting, with API access$49
Company support community$199

API access just means your group is allowed to let an add-on connect to it. Groups running their own server nearly always have it. Not sure? Ask us & we will check for you.

3 fairly different jobs

The club

Run by volunteers, paid for by 1 of them, & quieter every year as members get their answers somewhere else.

The project

Support is where your maintainers' evenings go, & the answers are already in the archive if anyone could find them.

The company

The same 30 questions forever, & an engineer pulled off work every time one of them is actually hard.

We are looking for a few trial communities, with their eyes open

It's a free trial for 6 months & you'll be able to keep your data, but hopefully you will want to continue, because we will always try to give much more value for less cost than what is available today. You hopefully will help us improve & add features that you want.

That question above is the important one. Everything below it is optional. Tick 2 or 3 things & ignore the rest, or skip it entirely & just send the form. We are working out what to build, & what gets ticked is what gets built first.

Moving in, if we host it
Already on, & not switchable. Every post is visibly a machine. We never write the steps for a repair, only the likely cause & where the manufacturer documents it. Anything that could hurt somebody is never answered automatically. And the off switch is always 1 click away.

Nothing here is a promise of a feature. We have no customers yet, & we would rather tell you that than have you find out. If it helps, we will introduce you to the other communities trying it, so you are not deciding alone. If you would rather just email, say so in the box.
